‘Cow’ When I examine or read a word, I get a certain concept, or sociable picture, of the word that is establish on my prior knowledge of it—this slump id very different from person to person because each of us have had different experiences in the past that have to do with that word. When an author writes a word in a book, his or her interpretation of the word will most probably be completely different than what you will think when you read the word. I see a man in over exclusivelys sitting on a three-legged pile milking Bessie into a small metal pail. I displace conflict the ringing sound as the milk hits the pail. I can smell the oxen and the milk.

solely throughout this slideshow of pictures in my mind, I can expose the call of the cows: Moo! Mooo! Moooo! any of these mental pictures, smells, and sounds come from reading one word: cow, and from all of my previous knowledge of cows, particularly my trip to the cow v! iew and to India. But this is just my interpretation of the word—someone else’s is probably completely different, such as my little boyfriend’s.
